So, Sara and I have been stuck inside a lot this week. Tuesday I was sick and then Friday she started getting sick. I think she's on the mend now; hopefully; but to be sure she and I stayed home from church today.<br />
<br />
Sara loves watching Nick Jr. and as a treat she gets to watch some and so we were curled up in bed this morning and a show that I hadn't seen came on. It is called <span style="color: red;"><em>Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends, </em></span><span style="color: black;">do you know the show? I am in love with it now. The mom (Miss Spider) is an adoptive mom! Today's episode was about her son the dragon fly who she had adopted meeting some other dragon flies and wanted to explore life as a dragon fly. Even though he loved his mom and dad (who were spiders), he wanted to learn about his own kind of bug (culture). His parents supportively loved him through his exploration and reassured him with their love. The dragonfly was shown talking with his brothers and sisters (who were all different kinds of bugs), telling them off his love for his adoptive family and that of his own kind (culture and dragonflies). </span><br />
<br />
I do believe that Sara and I will be finding out what time this show comes on more often and if we had a DVR; I think it would be recorded. I loved the postive display of adoption !!!!!! Looking forward to more....<br />

I want to share about another friend whose soap business is supporting adoption. Cheryl, also lived down the hall from me at UNC-Greensboro. She, her husband, and daughters are currently waiting to be matched for a domestic adoption. They are actually one of the Christian Adoption Services waiting families (it's a small world- I haven't seen Cheryl and Ted in almost 15 years and now I see them a couple times a year at CAS functions). Please check out Cheryl's soaps at Bright Star Soaps: <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/brightstarsoaps">http://www.etsy.com/shop/brightstarsoaps</a> and help them with their adoption.<br />
<br />
I can personally attest the soaps smell great, and are beautiful....Life of 5 Letteershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11899643718404891245noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9685428239606223.post-84877502626036193092010-11-05T16:07:00.001-07:002010-11-05T16:07:37.397-07:00Homemade Soaps support AdoptionI want to share with you all about a great gift idea for Christmas. A dormmate of mine from UNC-Greensboro has a homemade soap and lotion company that you should check out at <a href="http://www.catiebeth.com/">http://www.catiebeth.com/</a>. Catherine and her family adopted a little boy from Ethiopia earlier this year and now she is donating her profits to other families that God has lead to adopt.Life of 5 Letteershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11899643718404891245noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9685428239606223.post-51875852219077547782010-11-05T10:51:00.000-07:002010-11-05T10:51:07.495-07:00It's National Adoption Month- Christian Adoption Services Needs your Help.<h3 class="post-title entry-title">Hi Everyone; </h3><div class="post-title entry-title">As most of you know I work for Christian Adoption Services and it's also the agency that we adopted Sara through. <div>Most of you don't know but Sheryl (another Counselor) and I spent 3 days in Wilmington last week networking at the annual conference for health departments in NC. Well Sheryl did the networking and I assisted (total honesty should be good!). We made MANY great contacts throughout the state and most people were eager to get their hands on our information to pass out to their pregnant clients. </div><br />
<div></div><br />
<div>We were asked several times for packets in Spanish and not just English to be able to present the option of adoption to Spanish women/men. We are seeking a volunteer who would be able to translate 5 pieces of papers into Spanish which would help explore adoption as an option.</div><br />

Each year my mom makes chili in the crockpot so that whenever your hungry you can stop by the house for a little food. This year was extra special since the Barclays have moved back to Charlotte, Sara had her best friends and cousin, Ella a.k.a. Super Ella along to run the streets with. The boys were off on their own in the neighborhood with friends. (We didn't even get a picture of them, which goes to say they are getting to Big too fast). </div><br />
<br />
Sara a.k.a. the Butterfly, fluttered her way throughout the neighborhood and enjoyed having her pumpkin filled. While Super Ella soared right next to her.! Olivia, a.k.a. the pumpkin, joined in the festivities at the tail end. <br />

There was a B-17 Bomber on display that they could tour (for free), or ride in (for $400.00 a person). The boys were very excited and David being a history buff was in his glory! Mom enjoyed herself too. They all talked about how tiny the inside of the plane was. From the pictures, it looks like they all enjoyed themselves.</div><br />

Well the festival consisted of horse rides, a corn maze, a bail of hay maze (for the the younger kids), a wagon ride throughout the Greenway, and corn hole. They also had a few pumpkins to purchase and some goodies. <br />
<br />
Since it was a nice fall day; and all the family is now in Charlotte we headed out to enjoy some fun family entertainment. We also had Garrett for the night; so in total we had six kids. [For those of my friends that have more three children (like I do) I have a whole new respect for you]. Sara has a new love; Horse back riding (David is looking into riding lessons; I'm not so excited-especially since I'm allergic). Ella, Garrett, and Xander enjoyed it too. Jared was off running around, and Olivia enjoyed the festival from the comforts of her stroller nestled in a cozy blanket. <br />

It is a rare occassion that I get to spend one on one quality time with the boys. As it was Xander and David were gone to a cub scout camping trip and Sara spent the night with nana and papa so Jared and I got to have a great time just the two of us. I told him that he could choose where he wanted to eat and he wanted Chinese food and we had a coupon for Jo Jo China Bistro at Stonecrest; which neither of us had been too. Jared told me sounded good to him because he likes trying new places so that's where we went. It was a nice night; upper 70s/low 80s so we ate outside and just talked. On the way home Jared started talking about some very important events that have happened in his life and we ended up just talking and looking through an 'important memory' book for over 2 hours. I was so greatful to have this very special time to just listen to his heart and thoughts about his life experiences. He is growing into such a young man and he has such a tender heart. My prayer for him is that he always rests in the comfort and love of Jesus and knows that there is nothing that he can't share with David and I. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

This will be the final one for the Letteer family; as Xander is concluding his years in Cub Scouts. I secertly think David is more disappointed because since Xander is in cub scouts he gets to go camping pretty regularly; once Xander is in Boy Scouts with Jared, parents don't go along on every trip. At the Cuboree; Xander participated in orienteering, rock climbing wall, pioneering, and worked on his first aid. David and Xander had a great time having some father-son bonding; and sleeping in the cool air. <br />

<br />
<br />We headed to Skytop Orchards for our annual apple picking. This makes the third year that we have gone. This year was different from the other two; the first year was just like you want for apple picking- a cool, nice, fall day; last year was a little rainy and warm; this year was just plain old HOT.... I think it was almost 90. Not my idea of a pleasant fall day. Since it has been such a hot and dry late summer/early fall; several of the types of apples we normally pick the trees were bear. There was even a sign posted saying that because of the hot and dry weather the pickings are slimmer than other years. But, we still had FUN! Kristin and Garrett went with us so it was fun to watch them with their first experience of apple picking. The boys and Sara just love going too. This year for 3 days before we went Sara was telling everyone she was going apple picking. When we are there if you need to locate Jared and Xander; the best place to look is up, up in a tree because that is probably where you will find them. Garrett, also liked the idea of climbing trees. Sara perferred to stay on the ground.

The boys left Friday night and headed to the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">Appalachian</span> Trail for a backpacking and hiking trip. They hiked approximately 14 miles on Saturday and 6 on Sunday before heading home. Saturday night, they pitched a tent and camped along the trail. Each boy was responsible for carrying all their own gear including their sleeping bags, food, clothes, and water. Unfortunately, Jared didn't take his camera so we don't have any pictures. <br /><br />Job well done Jared; we are proud of you!Life of 5 Letteershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11899643718404891245noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9685428239606223.post-68684913186757152432010-09-19T10:25:00.000-07:002010-10-08T10:35:26.144-07:00CousinsXander and Sara finally were able to meet their newest cousin, Peyton Dawn Letteer. Once Sara held Peyton she became quite possessive; if I was holding Peyton; she would tell me "no mommy I hold her she's my baby." We all headed to David's parents house for lunch. It was a great time for Xander and Sara to meet Peyton as well as visit with their other cousins Amber, and Elizabeth; as well as Grandpa and Grandma Letteer, Uncle Andrew and Aunt Amber. Unfortunately, Jared wasn't able to be there as he was off hiking the Appalachin Trail with his Boy Scout Troop.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVmwAv5bqpmCnIpBZDM6YZNSbuDEd6fbqTuPCxtKAGOZsNh-TnMnRF7lXennQBHfxKlquRtkTWEafQKlMZkpY5zKshusXBzYQEDhOlDcuY_BWhZRyHxG8D0n3AIBp1vZQSg6oMVnfBYio/s1600/DSCN0750.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5525729563173882290" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVmwAv5bqpmCnIpBZDM6YZNSbuDEd6fbqTuPCxtKAGOZsNh-TnMnRF7lXennQBHfxKlquRtkTWEafQKlMZkpY5zKshusXBzYQEDhOlDcuY_BWhZRyHxG8D0n3AIBp1vZQSg6oMVnfBYio/s400/DSCN0750.JPG" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnznxhPrUfB959WK5qA_xTzY9LaINOY9Nw7eEockJ3FPJC4ESJ8Gts276-mEgiAHJa_IhLvHpk-FBmXNMbkSjKcq2bx-My4PxnxyGA_vPdLzi9T5qpBZetGL9GJo-rlYTeZVNi3KSym4s/s1600/DSCN0744.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5525729555636381794" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnznxhPrUfB959WK5qA_xTzY9LaINOY9Nw7eEockJ3FPJC4ESJ8Gts276-mEgiAHJa_IhLvHpk-FBmXNMbkSjKcq2bx-My4PxnxyGA_vPdLzi9T5qpBZetGL9GJo-rlYTeZVNi3KSym4s/s400/DSCN0744.JPG" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEgaoZRjFe3x6w49VggAWbNac0RNFJGIdSwCl9b1rcegtx8YD4XqN4kQi3WLZ-t87DkRC0PVNKWn6-bIEira-ioB2VUDs_18bTYITqUrGCDcnVDLbXhWpROqZ5mxXcMnLjtQMwxdUiHog/s1600/DSCN0740.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5525729527727239602" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEgaoZRjFe3x6w49VggAWbNac0RNFJGIdSwCl9b1rcegtx8YD4XqN4kQi3WLZ-t87DkRC0PVNKWn6-bIEira-ioB2VUDs_18bTYITqUrGCDcnVDLbXhWpROqZ5mxXcMnLjtQMwxdUiHog/s400/DSCN0740.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div></div><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div>Life of 5 Letteershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11899643718404891245noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9685428239606223.post-87909707003116135722010-09-06T18:41:00.000-07:002010-10-01T19:02:13.086-07:00Dan Nichols Park/Labor DaySince David and I were both off from work and all three kids had no school we took the opportunity to have a great day together as a family. Numerous people have told us about a great park about an hour away called Dan Nichols Park in Salisbury that we have wanted to check out. We had been told that there was a number of activities for all ages and it was fairly inexpensive; and right these people were. We are always looking for places that can accomdate a 2 yr old as well as a 10 yr old and 13 yr old. The boys were grumbling on the way, thinking they wouldn't have a good time thinking it would just be for Sara; until they saw all that was there.<br /><br />We got there just as it opened which happened to be perfect, since it was Labor Day it got busy fast but we beat the crowds on most of the activities. At this park there is a carousel, petting barn, a small zoo, a little train ride, minature golf, gem mining, a splash pad, a paddle boats. David and I convinced Jared and Xander that they had to ride the carousel and train with us so all 5 of us could be together; then afterwards they could go to play minature golf while David and I took Sara to the zoo. The reluctantly agreed but in the end admitted to having a good time on both the train and carousel, shh don't tell them I let their secrets out :). It worked out just perfect that by the time Sara was done in the zoo and the play area the boys had finished their round of minature golf. Having allergies to animals I headed to the Gem Mining with the boys while David and Sara went to the petting barn; zoos are tolerable, petting areas- not so much. Sara and David ended up meeting us at the Gem Mining and Sara too had fun mining. The boys found some great treasures. We didn't make the splash pad or paddle boating; we'll definitely being going back; especially since we did all that for a total of $25.00; for a family of five and so many activities.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoqjvkCcqmGY2-57lFQNmpVlXUlH8K5iNOZFAaOpFyHutFrySrFgB30Y2yVWii2g8vVpQ0yOKLuznOC0Gxp7ICqVtDQu2x5My7PrJ0ei06RjgfIa0i2tn5UWNVG_QeRl6ePCoeDgSdS-8/s1600/DSCN0710.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5523259819039832882" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoqjvkCcqmGY2-57lFQNmpVlXUlH8K5iNOZFAaOpFyHutFrySrFgB30Y2yVWii2g8vVpQ0yOKLuznOC0Gxp7ICqVtDQu2x5My7PrJ0ei06RjgfIa0i2tn5UWNVG_QeRl6ePCoeDgSdS-8/s320/DSCN0710.JPG" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrwhizdln2wucdBV0ZV_o_f7DqtPBfkxYgF_ofy72fQGcMZvT5rhX1jOkqKMlwFtoJfy7tAYzVYZKTiWOYYBJnlXMACJXEvjamvL1PLE96Dmds5g9Vqv5p7dR7hGJUuw-y-IoiteM8ENs/s1600/DSC_3595.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5523259812970991026" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrwhizdln2wucdBV0ZV_o_f7DqtPBfkxYgF_ofy72fQGcMZvT5rhX1jOkqKMlwFtoJfy7tAYzVYZKTiWOYYBJnlXMACJXEvjamvL1PLE96Dmds5g9Vqv5p7dR7hGJUuw-y-IoiteM8ENs/s320/DSC_3595.JPG" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhT95TCURIynHSMByC43kQWszccz3mtG8lxCnX6H7osZP9ff6F_doH9wjTs2EKoHiy-ARK_gTAjvJuX6YX9Kp3QBAGw3vXlHOsf3uXF86WbN8pWH0IrYFSljbllcyLc6jshTkWsTAcP35s/s1600/DSC_3589.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5523259293114274306" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhT95TCURIynHSMByC43kQWszccz3mtG8lxCnX6H7osZP9ff6F_doH9wjTs2EKoHiy-ARK_gTAjvJuX6YX9Kp3QBAGw3vXlHOsf3uXF86WbN8pWH0IrYFSljbllcyLc6jshTkWsTAcP35s/s320/DSC_3589.JPG" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlDk4hBv8jvkmfUgXOfkCVyXmqyYKHze7s8uITu75lYBt-jib_oWDU7OocklhNYI0u97wQ-bF1TcDHdQDMaLXWRap_eEOg4wd62UcnH751w8s195qaw7D2dCHBf1itQ_gxrzamR0Fg6B4/s1600/DSC_3573.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5523259288378865554" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlDk4hBv8jvkmfUgXOfkCVyXmqyYKHze7s8uITu75lYBt-jib_oWDU7OocklhNYI0u97wQ-bF1TcDHdQDMaLXWRap_eEOg4wd62UcnH751w8s195qaw7D2dCHBf1itQ_gxrzamR0Fg6B4/s320/DSC_3573.JPG" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGK-TokHUgKddLU_14JPDDR-hpR9mEDBP2SeO5woo6P5-5RJOQ7BV4P6vNEEyy1Yej_-0ah9jNvkeuGnL4sEohKdaRVjplMqdbI0hWt-b9vp_eQARUuiHjKHw6CD2fc4dvKh9twds0lW4/s1600/DSC_3537.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5523259285794466962" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGK-TokHUgKddLU_14JPDDR-hpR9mEDBP2SeO5woo6P5-5RJOQ7BV4P6vNEEyy1Yej_-0ah9jNvkeuGnL4sEohKdaRVjplMqdbI0hWt-b9vp_eQARUuiHjKHw6CD2fc4dvKh9twds0lW4/s320/DSC_3537.JPG" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSsiZZN0BSazC18AB9l4Nus4khEeKk_OhjVri5zJeG4K8NMce9A-yTQ91I8J5hJW7kbQ8lAhGqVac0kU1GTufe3FeF0KN9Al5u2OYB02Z7td8RAqLI7Fg7ID3oC7uw5W_Sv7VpE7RWuzU/s1600/DSC_3519.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5523259282256053746" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSsiZZN0BSazC18AB9l4Nus4khEeKk_OhjVri5zJeG4K8NMce9A-yTQ91I8J5hJW7kbQ8lAhGqVac0kU1GTufe3FeF0KN9Al5u2OYB02Z7td8RAqLI7Fg7ID3oC7uw5W_Sv7VpE7RWuzU/s320/DSC_3519.JPG" /></a>After we left the park and had lunch at Wendy's we headed to the NC Transportation Museum in Spencer, NC; which was only about 15 minutes away. She will be attending two days a week at Calvary Church. She has some of the sweetest teachers. There are 13 other children in her class. Only part of the class goes at a time this week to help them transition, next week all 14 children will be together. I am so excited about the program she will be attending; at two years old she will have music class, Spanish class, Science Lab, as well as daily she will have art time, play time indoors and out, Bible, and many other fun activities.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXdmmDz-Jq0z61zzxX6DFYBVjEiMyfls-qqTOZVXny9mHBm49vZwiq6k-RiHIJtZHLMiL8nFC0F1O-xWU_96-c8Cmt1HP4AovNT2muoOJfT8dJYUkvyg5_X0JMDBGZ63SxUKHO9qWTkNE/s1600/DSC_3491.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5523254337544764466" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXdmmDz-Jq0z61zzxX6DFYBVjEiMyfls-qqTOZVXny9mHBm49vZwiq6k-RiHIJtZHLMiL8nFC0F1O-xWU_96-c8Cmt1HP4AovNT2muoOJfT8dJYUkvyg5_X0JMDBGZ63SxUKHO9qWTkNE/s320/DSC_3491.JPG" /></a> <div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqBaMFbHnSp7ZgJnvNuisVnx576OPfbAlpbi0dzZwAG3dJBiuK7DNlP5U6ErNL2k2FLp5_Wt3RD_sKBnKhWfmrEqV_Mta_hz-an_9uItSY5V4KUrdH8K8XLvZAYi-IeVoPoa0uQ3vWOqM/s1600/DSC_3498.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5523254332132187218" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqBaMFbHnSp7ZgJnvNuisVnx576OPfbAlpbi0dzZwAG3dJBiuK7DNlP5U6ErNL2k2FLp5_Wt3RD_sKBnKhWfmrEqV_Mta_hz-an_9uItSY5V4KUrdH8K8XLvZAYi-IeVoPoa0uQ3vWOqM/s320/DSC_3498.JPG" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV5s1keaZqJmyzX4sbrGT9rvIZRAuRcNIkjYUpJwrR0FTBrPwH4viOT2UMkUWHrz7y2yKE9zDHAYmtOQHb_k57kc0Up6VH2s9_7tHQ5-8yTn0gkgZN2PFlOw2gzpoxYo-cs7ZuuiJI3TI/s1600/DSC_3500.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV5s1keaZqJmyzX4sbrGT9rvIZRAuRcNIkjYUpJwrR0FTBrPwH4viOT2UMkUWHrz7y2yKE9zDHAYmtOQHb_k57kc0Up6VH2s9_7tHQ5-8yTn0gkgZN2PFlOw2gzpoxYo-cs7ZuuiJI3TI/s320/DSC_3500.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5523255918412991986" /></a><br /><br /><div></div><br />She looked like such a big girl walking into class carrying her monogramed lunch box (Thanks Kelly, Scott, and Ella for a great birthday present!).<br /><br /><br /><div></div><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div>Life of 5 Letteershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11899643718404891245noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9685428239606223.post-22187370012820154152010-08-21T18:09:00.000-07:002010-10-01T18:21:13.924-07:00Jared is a TeenagerWell my oldest has made it to the age of a teenager. Lord please help David and I as parents; I don't know that we are ready for this; haha! To celebrate he wanted to go to one of his favorite type of restaurants; a Japanese Steak house, so that is what we did. He also enjoyed yummy ice cream cake from Carvel, a kid after my own heart.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaKm2jld9WQlDOkwVRadVwJh2pJ4VjUIDkcWDCMoz98SnAi8yTDn_vZMqO6K7wSRBU93sy8_pK57wJwPM-QIDOvq0z7C-wKVGbYsWlOeqVeoUKhl64Ic_HNvtV5NUrhL3b44nnTSLG4Zw/s1600/DSCN0665.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5523250961735278898" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaKm2jld9WQlDOkwVRadVwJh2pJ4VjUIDkcWDCMoz98SnAi8yTDn_vZMqO6K7wSRBU93sy8_pK57wJwPM-QIDOvq0z7C-wKVGbYsWlOeqVeoUKhl64Ic_HNvtV5NUrhL3b44nnTSLG4Zw/s320/DSCN0665.JPG" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgW4KWNImHgW7Vx7MtBv4e8Ljd1tcjOGS8bafr6VPjQQxXUJjDEY-wViIC0ijSyy9F3bY-CQUHiuKgoSNiaRCUZtQ52_-zHN1l9u2tzyn6ccDhb1UCMytOW1DmMwS4utjZEAEXvvuNbABk/s1600/DSCN0680.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5523250970423874450" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgW4KWNImHgW7Vx7MtBv4e8Ljd1tcjOGS8bafr6VPjQQxXUJjDEY-wViIC0ijSyy9F3bY-CQUHiuKgoSNiaRCUZtQ52_-zHN1l9u2tzyn6ccDhb1UCMytOW1DmMwS4utjZEAEXvvuNbABk/s320/DSCN0680.JPG" /></a><br /><div></div><div></div><div>Happy 13th Jared. We love you very much and are proud of the young man that you are becoming. You are now in your second year of middle school, 7th grade. I can not believe how fast you are growing up. You keep reminding dad and I that you will be able to get your drivers license in 3 years. You are still taking the trumpet (i'd like to hear you practice more), and are participating in Boy Scouts. (You actually gave up a white water rafting trip to stay home and celebrate with your family, I'm sure that won't last too many more years!) You have such a sincere heart. You may test the waters; but we know you are only trying to find your independence however, don't forget sometimes there are natural and/or logical consequences. You are a blessing and daddy and I are proud to call you our son and are thankful that God entrusted us to care for you. </div></div><br /><p><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiy3g9ToklEHZozRW7JwxXjUfxm5vIyuxOC8nuMQcP0Guc7mVTFz9UoODNchwp9aDk36wJyXJmWH2k_oZNMTWymvRTr7KbgKfGpU74CTuaySST6HUkQed0K2oxsqcQyZvcen4Y4aA22pY/s1600/DSCN0692.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5523250975373619538" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiy3g9ToklEHZozRW7JwxXjUfxm5vIyuxOC8nuMQcP0Guc7mVTFz9UoODNchwp9aDk36wJyXJmWH2k_oZNMTWymvRTr7KbgKfGpU74CTuaySST6HUkQed0K2oxsqcQyZvcen4Y4aA22pY/s320/DSCN0692.JPG" /></a> </p><p align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;color:#3333ff;">Happy 13th Birthday Jared!</span></p>Life of 5 Letteershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11899643718404891245noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9685428239606223.post-35339218050174440962010-08-15T17:58:00.000-07:002010-10-01T18:06:35.717-07:00Peyton Dawn LetteerCongratulations Andrew and Amber Letteer on the birth of Peyton Dawn Letteer. David and Sara attended and had such a good time. They watched the new Veggie Tales movie: Sweetpea Beauty: A Girl After God's Own Heart; which teaches them about beauty is what's on the inside. They also danced the night away, ate snacks, and had some great time together.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgweDf4rJ3gMPz_5KXs1zhVEyFHCoxae-Y4CqeKxRzmayCEkZVgyBgNcs9339ZAEHBbZlfU_y5y-7FnmO0o213zad4tIlvDC7xuBfEtAWJJ4o9vOhTLnhZC7n5E58aTipFKLzu8U9jKzqY/s1600/DSCN0635.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5523245782252282546" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgweDf4rJ3gMPz_5KXs1zhVEyFHCoxae-Y4CqeKxRzmayCEkZVgyBgNcs9339ZAEHBbZlfU_y5y-7FnmO0o213zad4tIlvDC7xuBfEtAWJJ4o9vOhTLnhZC7n5E58aTipFKLzu8U9jKzqY/s320/DSCN0635.JPG" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjS7OFxGlx-GJ8Uk64um97iu2GbcecPfvXuGkBlL6_LSZVSf3xS5YW464XyG1mlhSmk5qJDs2LhrRcoUmBOrkfEL__C79lAX0BPlVyX6kVszObaUc0pc9r5-mVCvpMWoLaD3au3FnOCoVk/s1600/DSCN0648.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5523245794354354402" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjS7OFxGlx-GJ8Uk64um97iu2GbcecPfvXuGkBlL6_LSZVSf3xS5YW464XyG1mlhSmk5qJDs2LhrRcoUmBOrkfEL__C79lAX0BPlVyX6kVszObaUc0pc9r5-mVCvpMWoLaD3au3FnOCoVk/s320/DSCN0648.JPG" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfkmKYsbmkQ_dodZxH9TVlzBsn6D1JoMR3pqwbewxnGJ14R-KZBFHMY-deNPNFc2mZKdHtd5DJriq66_3v8ubSQcGdUPavMRMUZfq6DhPLeO1O9Fog0A5H0uRO8_D-9_4Fbya2ofin6oo/s1600/DSCN0643.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5523245789629699874" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfkmKYsbmkQ_dodZxH9TVlzBsn6D1JoMR3pqwbewxnGJ14R-KZBFHMY-deNPNFc2mZKdHtd5DJriq66_3v8ubSQcGdUPavMRMUZfq6DhPLeO1O9Fog0A5H0uRO8_D-9_4Fbya2ofin6oo/s320/DSCN0643.JPG" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOc9FFQFS3rcKvXKGbgI5jYgZKfN75psYkgsBRx7wDLwuTMdEpGw31kNvXeSmXFUN6PrRKvEGrKETOf2C2VtRh6j4e_9CBD-ZQs4sTGMA0ilkIrWAcwU3g1qqW3EfRSA5xIkBZM3dsiNA/s1600/IMG_7486.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5523245803970325186" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOc9FFQFS3rcKvXKGbgI5jYgZKfN75psYkgsBRx7wDLwuTMdEpGw31kNvXeSmXFUN6PrRKvEGrKETOf2C2VtRh6j4e_9CBD-ZQs4sTGMA0ilkIrWAcwU3g1qqW3EfRSA5xIkBZM3dsiNA/s320/IMG_7486.JPG" /></a><br /><div></div><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div>Life of 5 Letteershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11899643718404891245noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9685428239606223.post-13724124817441717792010-07-30T11:28:00.000-07:002010-10-01T12:09:25.655-07:00Rochester NY for Walter Letteer's Funeral (July 25-28th)<div align="center">Well David and I have now hit the east coast, mountains and heart of NY (central part), and western border of NY all in one months time. We headed to Rochester, NY for his grandfather's funeral. As we have either been on the road as a family with vacations, or the boys have been at camp. David and I made this trip without the kids; whom we left with my parents. Jared and Xander even requested to stay at home, especially Jared who had just got home from camp less than 24 hours before David and I were leaving. </div><p align="center">David's grandfather, Walter Letteer, Jr. was 92 yrs old when he passed away. He had served in the Army during WWII and was also a POW after being captured in Italy. Walter had spent the last 15-20 yrs living in Blacksburg, SC. He was buried next to his wife and parents in White Haven memorial Park and was honored with a military funeral and 21 gun salute.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAaRqo5B4qjInqHFXfU-r6SLO48EwKF4rDDfqK2zhCJe5rLCHswVeO80rB4gh9L42wtHA6z0YL6nYn0WoZ8jcTyEX8k_xyz6rlMs5uC3Ajlnuu_wyjOdgvTiQZOcnNJV9ZXs369DNd4QM/s1600/DSC_3433.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5523154767331551490" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAaRqo5B4qjInqHFXfU-r6SLO48EwKF4rDDfqK2zhCJe5rLCHswVeO80rB4gh9L42wtHA6z0YL6nYn0WoZ8jcTyEX8k_xyz6rlMs5uC3Ajlnuu_wyjOdgvTiQZOcnNJV9ZXs369DNd4QM/s320/DSC_3433.JPG" /></a> <span style="font-size:78%;color:#ff0000;">American Legion Color Guard</span> </p><p align="center"><br />This was the first time in many years that all 5 of Walter's children were together. David and I took a few short 'detours' and trips on the way to Rochester and while we were there; while other family was still traveling to Rochester. We stopped along Lake Erie, went to Niagara Falls for a few hours (the Canadian side- as I threw in our passports just in case), and spent time touring parts of Rochester that I hadn't seen and David hadn't seen since he was 3. We also visited David's maternal aunt, Susan (who also lives in Rochester and Dave and Paulette stayed with) and his cousin Joe's family. We walked along the beach and Pier at Lake Ontario Beach Park in Rochester, as well as enjoyed the beautiful low 80 degree weather (while it was 102 in Charlotte). After the funeral we spent the afternoon with David's Uncle Dale and his wife Rhonda, Aunt Dorinda, and his cousins, Clarissa and Jeff; walking along the beach and then all of us adults rode a carousel that was over 100 yrs old; that his aunt and uncle used to ride as kids with their dad.<br /></p><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 214px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5523151614808914850" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlFjTbvIO8zaSwBewjyxqXxu_V8cTYj04z9rM9W-mALeiaf5VCWii2LHRShHJiIEMn7afKs6i5Q5tZfsrIe76BWz_xru7hL1R2dZYYRzH_08l2cYSe3Qj3izmxOSzq-SQnHZcxUV_l2Zw/s320/DSC_3307.JPG" /> <p align="center"><span style="font-size:78%;color:#ff0000;">David and I at Lake Erie</span><br /><br /></p><div align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPxLRo_x7EOn6ZYEU9YvfenUhpLKsLTPCx4cWkNz75MimFE2mmlbmY_SYaNRM7w5BxG59fvemsKiDdNlq5h4IAuLD5fA3r4Wc3Wl_ZiQH1Vcvz4uaGeQ-CLIdkLFkSttzVZZdRkeSLKY0/s1600/DSC_3366.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; Jared participated in class called the Brown Sea, which prepares younger Boy Scouts for years to come. He camped out, cooked, out, swam, widdled on sticks, hiked, fished and many other activities. Jared told us that there were Brown Bears spotted in the camp site and the leaders confirmed this. </div><div></div><br /><div>On Friday; Xander, Sara, mom, and I traveled to the camp for his 'graduation' from the Brown Sea program. I dropped Xander and Jamie (one of the other boys) off to meet the rest of the troop for 4 fun filled days in some very hot weather doing all things boys like to do. They camped out, swam, archery, and etc. Xander had a great time and is already ready for next years week long camp. Hopefully, next year he will shower. David said its very typical for the boys not to shower but I have other hopes!<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOAUolvdTdtNayPUMwPWmooU-gz6xpkaRD4kBkj3NSF4TT22ro-ZnNZP3KPuQCda6G9iVVqqRqkvCpZLAPmqZp4us1MGiOk_-KKc6XFjD1X8i_fxlnekTVvhYjWrU9L8STpGbxYw8A2is/s1600/DSCN0570.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5522783585903151554" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOAUolvdTdtNayPUMwPWmooU-gz6xpkaRD4kBkj3NSF4TT22ro-ZnNZP3KPuQCda6G9iVVqqRqkvCpZLAPmqZp4us1MGiOk_-KKc6XFjD1X8i_fxlnekTVvhYjWrU9L8STpGbxYw8A2is/s320/DSCN0570.JPG" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhdXaUA57lFRQuiHY2KknSu4nZXfQeYziq504I4yOvceRrILcrIKIgU8Cu5BkjeT9ospc-LeNfbh_hDeiA40dP5HcPaG-6eraq2IknK7zdD9X_NvC4v-GN6e2DFQ2v22RKO4TAgQt7Fok/s1600/DSCN0574.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5522783590197928130" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhdXaUA57lFRQuiHY2KknSu4nZXfQeYziq504I4yOvceRrILcrIKIgU8Cu5BkjeT9ospc-LeNfbh_hDeiA40dP5HcPaG-6eraq2IknK7zdD9X_NvC4v-GN6e2DFQ2v22RKO4TAgQt7Fok/s320/DSCN0574.JPG" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHYOYfSPL2DlyXKvqeMRMgO7LWKe0zTG4QypMQ0gXDstT0D5wXgaS-t98iWErY0sJncwsj3U1BMK2MufC0y0plYboJmKF66GReKAjYbUtoN__vBc2A4p4vkIK2q6K7CFiqmEcqgUfw7HQ/s1600/DSCN0576.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5522783602148951698" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHYOYfSPL2DlyXKvqeMRMgO7LWKe0zTG4QypMQ0gXDstT0D5wXgaS-t98iWErY0sJncwsj3U1BMK2MufC0y0plYboJmKF66GReKAjYbUtoN__vBc2A4p4vkIK2q6K7CFiqmEcqgUfw7HQ/s320/DSCN0576.JPG" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9b_hsnS5t36pxvTf9IXDU0V2Y7ntEL1egEKpgwBtvT834Jff3FV5fsk4deIQphNW2e2bccCCC0BM02XXg6QZDqkbCMSS7BxmAaOL14c_VxEmz1izz92jAD78k_fr8nHId1gdiutDgIeQ/s1600/DSCN0579.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5522783606147228194" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9b_hsnS5t36pxvTf9IXDU0V2Y7ntEL1egEKpgwBtvT834Jff3FV5fsk4deIQphNW2e2bccCCC0BM02XXg6QZDqkbCMSS7BxmAaOL14c_VxEmz1izz92jAD78k_fr8nHId1gdiutDgIeQ/s320/DSCN0579.JPG" /></a></div></div>Life of 5 Letteershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11899643718404891245noreply@blogger.com0
